The Effects of sleep deprivation

Sleep deficiency has a number of negative consequences.

Although it might seem that not having enough sleep isn't a major problem, sleep deprivation has a slew of detrimental repercussions that stretch well beyond daytime drowsiness.

Sleep deprivation has an effect on your judgement, balance, and response times.

In reality, sleep loss may have the same effect as being inebriated.

Effects of sleep deprivation include ...

Fatigue, lethargy, and a sense of loss of energy (which are also symptoms of depression.)

Increased likelihood of depression related to irritability and moodiness.

Reduced sex drive which can lead to relationship concerns.

Learning, attention, and retention issues are all symptoms of impaired brain function.

Reduced imagination and problem solving abilities; decision-making problems.

The failure to deal with tension and the inability to control feelings.

Premature ageing of the skin.

Weakened immune system, chronic colds and illnesses, and  weight gain are also symptoms of a weakened immune system.

Hallucinations and delirium; impaired coordination functions and an elevated chance of injuries.

Chances of severe health issues such as stroke, asthma, elevated blood pressure, cardiac disease, Alzheimer's disease, and some cancers are raised.
