Signs you're not getting enough sleep

If you don't get at least eight hours of sleep each night, you're probably sleep deprived. Furthermore, you are still unaware of how much sleep deprivation affects you.

Why would you be sleep deprived without noticing it? Sleep deficiency expresses itself in a number of forms, most of which are much less noticeable than dropping face first onto your dinner plate. Furthermore, if you've developed a pattern of skipping sleep, you may not know what it's like to be completely awake, aware, and running on all cylinders. It might seem natural to fall asleep in a tedious meeting, struggle through the afternoon depression, or fall asleep after dinner, but the fact is that it's just "usual" if you're sleep deprived.

If you don't get enough sleep, you may find you...

Always need an alarm clock to get up on time.

The snooze button is your best friend and you always use it.

It's difficult for you to get out of bed in the morning.

In the afternoon, you feel tired.

Meetings, workshops, and warm rooms will make you sleepy.

After a heavy meal or when driving, you can get drowsy.

To get through the day, you need to have a nap.

When watching TV or sleeping in the evening, you fall asleep.

At weekends, you feel the need to sleep in.

Within five minutes of falling into bed, you'll be fast asleep.
